[ [Their memories had ended early into their seventh year. When everything was over and they found themselves back home it was difficult to explain everything they endured or how things happened. Like getting married or the strange scars that are hardly accidental. Or the way they were unused to their first names and how Regulus still has trouble responding to it.
But they managed to graduate and the boy had kept his promise of moving out as soon as he graduated. He'd promptly invited her to join him anxiously, wife or otherwise. And that's what leads him to this morning surrounded by bookshelves in a modest apartment. He's currently reading a book between glancing at a calendar.
He's extra quiet as the last he'd checked the young woman was still asleep. ]
[ She snuggles into the warmth of the bed but feels the emptiness beside her causing her to blink and awaken to her lonesome self in bed. Getting herself out of bed she smiles as she adorns one of his shirts and some bunny pajama pants.
Her fluffy bear slippers quietly step out of the room and she notices a bob of light brown hair. She quietly walks closer;]
[ It's one year later since they've spoke about starting those eleven children and luckily 7 months ago they were grateful to here the good news about child number one.
Of course, Riley loved the child in her but at these times when she's waddling around the apartment, craving for some weird concoction but also really needing to pee. She'd thankfully gotten a job as an intern at St.Mungo's which definitely made her hopes to become a healer slowly come true.
I really want a burger with peanut butter and jelly with extra pickles
She would quietly waddle to the kitchen in hopes of making the food but from then everything only seemed to go down hill. From dropping the jar of jelly on the floor to triggering the fire alarm when she burnt the burger. She really hoped Farkle didn't hear everything. ]
[Farkle had kept to the goal and promise he'd sort of made to Riley all of those years ago. He could have become Junior Undersecretary to the Ministry as soon as he'd graduated, but he'd decided to go to one of the local Muggle Universities. Much to the talk of others, not that he allowed it to stop him. Of course, even with the decent amount of money he had of his own he'd still taken to a part time job at an observatory...
Which, really had become far more work than he was capable of. Though, as always the boy valiantly tried. School, Work, come home for dinner, then study. And in between all of it trying to be there for Riley and be there every step of the way.
It was astonishing to some people his head hadn't exploded...
But at least this week he sort of tunnel visioned with midterms coming up and a primary field trip in the same week. He's spent more time hulled up banging his head on a desk or flipping through his books and. Well, he hasn't quite realized he has otherwise he'd be out with Riley.
He's still there, memorizing word after word when he starts to notice the scent and hears the sounds. He lets it pass for a bit before he remembers. He has a wife. She's pregnant. She's clumsy. And there's a reason he does the cooking.
Farkle bolts up from where he was sitting but not before stubbing his toe with a yelp. Forgetting about the stinging pain he gets around the table and is in the doorframe of the kitchen in record speed.]
[ She's surrounded by disaster, in fact she just stands in the middle of it hoping he was too far into studying to notice this. She didn't want to disrupt him and she knew how hard his schedule has become so dealing with a pregnant and clumsy wife shouldn't be his main priority.
Unfortunately for her, there he is at the entrance of the kitchen and she can't help but smile cutely at him and let out a nervous giggle. ]
[ His eyes flick around taking the image in to assess that Riley wasn't in danger before letting himself a breathe. It's a minute before he responds, lightly putting weight on his stubbed toe before approaching her to grab her by the waist. ]
[ She places a hand on his chest and stares up at him with puppy dog eyes. ]
I just wanted a snack nothing to worry about. Plus, I didn't want to bother you; you've been so busy with school and work. Plus, I can't always depend on you to cook especially with this little one on the way.
[ He shakes his head, licking the corner of his lip. ]
I like cooking. It's kind of chemistry reaction, besides dinner is the one time we definitely have together. [Even though he manages to always seems to be in fifty places at once.] What were you wanting?
[ Riley had nightmares; she had nightmares every since they've returned. They made her toss and turn at night and some of her old roommates used to tell her she'd sometimes scream or cry but she never told Regulus; she knew he'd worry. The nightmares were more like memories that until they graduated she looked like a zombie every morning.
Everything seemed to change today, she was moving in with him. From the minute they returned she'd did everything in her power to avoid falling asleep with him even if it meant faking it but now she couldn't avoid it or pop in as much candy in her mouth to have sugar crazed days.
This meant her, regulus and sleep. Which meant nightmare that she never wanted to come clean about. Gosh why didn't she just tell him from the start?
It's just after dinner when she skips out happily into the room he's in. Only adorned in a long t-shirt and some bright coloured fuzzy socks.] Regulus, My love. So, have you decided if you wanted to continue your education?
[Farkle had always compartmentalized and had only become more so throughout the years. He tries to let more things slide off, which helps when you were in a team with people who had violent backgrounds. He's still barely suited, but he's gotten used to more gruesome things.
He's glad, though, that Riley finally agreed to move in with him and at least the apartment was pre-furnished (because, well, he decorated in advance with anticipation of his wife joining him. He's already fidgeting around with the papers when Riley comes in.
Quirk a brow upwards, he gives the tiniest of smug grins before sliding an envelope reading the name of a university addressed to a 'Regulus Barghest' before skipping back through more papers with a yawn.] That's still open for debate. [He motions with a nod.] There's a spot open in the Ministry right now.
[ Walking up behind him before wrapping her arms around his seated body with a smile on her face. ]
You know I'll support you on anything you chose. If you want to go to a muggle university; sure. If you want to work at the ministry; go ahead. If you want to buy your lovely wife a bunny farm and move out to the country; yay! The point is, I love you and I'll follow you wherever you go.
It's already open. And that person is giving you permission right here. [His brow quirk a further shifting to look Riley in the eye.] Or we could talk about your internship, seems much more exciting.
